Exactly five years ago , just two days before her birthday — on November 9, 2020 , in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic — 15-year-old Doroteia was invited to share her heartfelt testimony about the challenges she faced as a student during quarantine. She spoke honestly about how isolation had deeply affected her studies and her social life. “My school is not safe,” she said at the time.
